House Checkup
A home inspection is a visual inspection of the readily accessible systems and components of a house. A typical inspection takes two to three hours. You will receive a computer generated report detailing the components in your house and any defects, safety hazards, or needed improvement.
Mold
Mold is increasingly becoming a significant concern for homeowners and buyers. The effects of mold range from minor irritants to severe illnesses. If you have mold conditions (heat & moisture) it is important to have a mold test.
Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality is more than just one test. It is multiple tests checking poisonous gases (carbon monoxide and radon) as well as allergens, such as mold, pollen, insect parts, skin cell fragments, fibers, combustion particles and pet dander. The quality of your life may depend on the quality of your air.
Water Quality
It's easy - and perhaps we take it for granted - that the water we get by simply turning on the faucet is going to be clean and pure. Most often, it's drinkable and safe for cooking. But people are often surprised to find what can ad does seep into our water supplies - from bacteria to every conceivable contaminant. Troubles range from clogged pipes to serious health problems.
Radon
Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the United States. Each year radon kills more than twice as many people as drowning, fires and airline crashes - combined. Maine has one of the highest potentials for radon in the nation. All Maine homes, new and old, may exceed the EPA-recommended levels. Indoor radon is by far the greatest single source of radiation to the general public, more than any all other sources, combined. A radon test is crucial to family health yet is non-invasive to administer.
